Democrats Leave Texas to Block Republican Redistricting Vote

Gov. Greg Abbott is threatening to remove Texas Democrats from office after they fled the state in an attempt to block a partisan redrawing of the congressional map drawn up by state Republicans with the support of President Donald Trump. The new map would potentially give the GOP a path to pick up five more seats in next year’s mid-term elections and divide up districts in traditionally blue cities like Austin, Houston and Dallas. NBC’s Ryan Chandler reports for TODAY.
